EMBER & BONE
The Spirit of the Land Incense Series
Ember & Bone is a series of seasonal incense offerings shaped by the high desert in Taos, New Mexico and the animals who move through it.
Each release follows the rhythm of the land, crafted from real resins, woods, needles, and herbs gathered with care in northern New Mexico.
No synthetic fragrance. No filler scents. Just land, fire, and time.
The Offering
Each Ember & Bone release is offered as a standalone box.
Made in small batches and available in limited quantities, each one reflects a specific moment in the turning season. When a batch is gone, it may return only in small archive releases.
This is not mass production. It is slow work, shaped by what the land gives.
What’s Inside
Each box includes:
- 6 hand-rolled incense sticks (~2 hour burn time per stick)
- A 24 page mini-zine with a letter from the animal, ritual guidance, and notes on the blend
- A collectible animal art print / postcard
- A sticker and seasonal paper goods
- A bookmark
- Digital phone wallpaper and a curated Spotify playlist
Each piece is crafted slowly, in rhythm with the high desert’s shifting light.
RAVEN
The Opening of the Circle
The series begins with Raven, keeper of thresholds, messenger between worlds.
In the Taos high desert, raven moves through piñon woodland and open sky, calling across distance, watching, waiting.
This first offering carries piñon resin, wood, and needles gathered with care and shaped by hand.
Each stick is made from powdered plants and resins, never dipped, and bound with natural makko bark for a clean, steady burn that allows the true scent of place to come through.
This is not perfumed incense. It is quiet, smoky, and alive.
Piñon does not give every year. This incense reflects that patience.
Raven arrives as smoke, memory, and intention.
A Year of Smoke
Raven opens the path.
From here, the series continues through Bison, Owl, and the animals that follow, each arriving in its season, each carrying a scent rooted in the northern New Mexico high desert.
Each release stands on its own, yet together they form a cycle.
An invitation to mark time. To create ritual. To return to the senses.
One animal. One season. One breath at a time.

Incense
Are these scented with fragrance oils?
No. Ember & Bone incense is made without synthetic fragrance oils. Scents come from natural resins, woods, herbs, and a few carefully chosen essential oils used sparingly. Some blends are completely essential-oil free.
Will the incense smell exactly the same each month?
No — and that’s intentional. Because these incense are made with real plant materials, each batch may vary slightly in aroma, burn time, and smoke character. These natural variations are part of the craft.
Is this incense safe for sensitive spaces?
These incense burn more softly than many commercial sticks, but we recommend burning in a well-ventilated area and discontinuing use if irritation occurs. Always burn on a heat-safe surface and never leave unattended.
How do I care for my incense?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Because these sticks contain real resins and botanicals, they may be more sensitive to humidity.
Are your materials ethically sourced?
Yes. Ingredients are grown, foraged, or sourced with respect for the land and seasons. Certain materials are used sparingly and intentionally. Sustainability and care are central to every blend.
