Pinon Black Drawing Salve

Old-fashioned pine tar salve has been traditionally used for centuries to help soothe everything from splinters, bug bites and rough patches of skin. 

Pine trees produce a sticky resin as a protective response to injury, insect assault, and fungal or bacterial stressors. Walking amongst a forest of piñon pine trees you are captured by their sweet, earthy scent as it's carried on the hot desert air. We sustainably hand harvested the soft and harder resins from the downed trees or branches and healing trunk scuffs being careful to protect the trees wounds. These resins are heated to create a liquid pine oleoresin. 

The ingredients in this salve have been chosen specifically for the benefits they provide during the time of a skin injury. Pine resin, the key ingredient, is broadly antimicrobial, warming, stimulating, and increases blood flow. This black salve includes activated charcoal, bentonite and french green clays which aide in drawing bacteria out of a wound. Osha Root and Usnea infused oil have been added to help disinfect and heal. Cedar and fir essential oils aide in pain relief.

Application - Apply to wound, abscess, ingrown nail, splinter, or sting to draw out toxins and soothe skin. This salve is best used at room temperature.
